Teacher Training: iPads in Grades 6 7 & 8 (Oct 11 training)

This will be an exciting and informative day. Approximately 60 teachers will come together on Oct 11 to have an opportunity to dialogue and experiement with their new iPads that have just been issued with them.

Both Ginny Turner and I attending his session albeit a fast paced quick touchdown on the possibilities of shared work. While we needed to finish 6 tasks in 60 minutes, and alas...it took longer than even he thought it would take, some of the challenges were worthwhile.

Challenge:

Record a 30 second video clip of at least 3 different people in your group showing any 3 of these iPad features/functions:

Lock and unlock the screen orientation
Reveal the doc to view the most recent applications
Make sure the multitasking gestures is turned on
Rearrange your desktop apps
Create a folder for 2 or more apps
Take a screen capture

Create a picture of your entire group with the Stars and Stripes in the background.

Hint: Be sure to search for a stars and stripes pictures that are licensed under the creative commons licensing (free to use).

TIP: Long pressing on a picture on a web page often allows you to save it to your camera roll. It's easy to email pictures from your camera roll!

IPad scavenger Hunt....Faces

Challenge

Everyone, take a phone of your face. Use a draw tool and your finger to draw all lines of your face on top of it.  Delete the photo (add a white background) leaving the tracing.

Suggestion: Use Doodle Buddy
